Improve athletic performance. get smart. get fast. change the speed of the game. intelligent tools and skills to make athletes of all ages and all shapes and sizes perform to the best of
their ability and beyond.

What does it take to be an athlete?
Key Components:
(In no particular order)
1. Natural Ability
A certain degree of natural ability is just the beginning. It varies by
individual and can certainly be enhanced by the other components outlined
below.
2. Skills
- Involves knowledge, understanding, coordination, intelligence.
- Natural ability helps but can be improved and enhanced in all areas.
- Mechanics
- Hand-eye coordination
- Throwing Accuracy / Velocity
- Defense / Fielding
- Ball Skills / dribbling etc.
2. Mental Aspects
- 90% of this game is mental, the other half is physical - Yogi Berra
( too short, too small, 3 time MVP, 10 world series championships)
- Mental discipline
- Game intelligence / understanding
- Training / Coaching / Practice / Repetition
- Reflex / Reaction time
- Decision-making ability
- Work ethic / drive
3. Vision
- A key attribute of good eye-hand coordination
as well as decision-making ability
- Good vision
- Awareness / Recognition / identification
- Court / field vision
- Eye is a muscle that can be strengthened
- Equipment can help overcome adverse conditions
- Eye exercises can enhance all of the above
- If you can see it earlier, you react sooner.
4. Hands
- Good hands - the other key component to eye-hand coordination
- Coordination
- Soft - ability to catch
- Strength
- Quickness / reactions
5. Core Strength
- Strength
- Stamina
- Power
- Heart / Guts / Drive / Determination / Will to Win
- note Michael Jordan was cut from his high school team and was not
considered a top prospect at North Carolina. However, the coaches noticed
him as a freshman not because of his individual talents but whatever
practice squad they put him on would somehow find a way to win the
scrimmage.
6. Speed
- Footspeed / wheels
- Quickness
- Speed
- Agility
- Speed never slumps and can overcome many other weaknesses, which is
why most college / pro scouts carry a stopwatch. While speed is a large
part of natural ability, it can be improved. It is invaluable because virtually
every other skill can be coached / taught / trained. Speed is a great place
to start. If you have speed, you will get multiple opportunities to prove your
other abilities.
7. Passion / Desire / Fun Factor
You must have a passion for the game as well as the practice. Coaches /
scouts recognize that enjoyment, enthusiasm, and desire to just play and
will to win. If you're not having fun, try something else.
Tom Brady on Speed vs. Decision-Making "My strengths are awareness and decision making. I've never been a great athlete...some of the great QBs in college can run a 4.7 and outrun linebackers. In the NFL, the linebackers run 4.5, so if you still run 4.7, you're the slow guy again."

Overachievers. We can build them.
Changing the speed of the game. The bottom line - if you can accelerate your mind, recognition, decision making, reflexes, and speed, you can change the speed of the game. Many athletes who have been in the zone, have expressed, "It felt the ball and the opponent and the game were all moving in slow motion."
Even if you don't always have superior skill / power, those who recognize the play before it unfolds and gets there first, usually wins. If you also happen to get there with superior skills and strength, you dominate.

The Reason for intelligence and discipline is speed . . . to get there first.

Speed=Being Hitter /
Not Hittee
The information, knowledge, and tools here can help athletes improve
their minds, skills, speed and performance. Take an honest assessment of
your athletes' strengths and weaknesses, establish priorities, then get to work and make
it happen. There is absolutely no reason you won't see immediate improvement.
Strength + Mechanics = Speed =Power

"There's nothing like seeing your athletes in slow motion / stop action to
correct mechanical flaws and change the speed of the game...."
